How Does Charge Distribution Affect Electric Field Calculations?
thank you, Henxan! The sheet does have two sides and therefore i got the correct answer for 1 :P However, do you know how am i supposed to do the other two parts of the problem? If you do, would you kindly help me. :)- chongkuan123

How Does Charge Distribution Affect Electric Field Calculations?
Homework Statement A charge of 4.1 nC is placed uniformly on a square sheet of nonconducting material, with side 19.0 cm, that lies in a horizontal plane. 1. What is the magnitude of the electric field just above the center of the sheet? The same charge is placed on a horizontal square...- chongkuan123

Finding Center of Mass of a Nonuniform Bar
thank you so much after reading your reply i found out that i made a foolish calculation mistake. The correct answer should be x = (sinø_2 L) / (tan ø_1 cos ø_2 + sinø_2), i was right, but i simplified it incorrectly, now i can't figure out how to simplify this is expression in terms of tangents :(- chongkuan123

Finding Center of Mass of a Nonuniform Bar
I guess i should write sum force x, but isn't the equation itself correct? for the second equation, i setted the torque around center of mass to be 0; then calculated for x which is the distance from the left end to the center of mass. thank you for replying- chongkuan123

Finding Center of Mass of a Nonuniform Bar
Homework Statement A nonuniform, horizontal bar of mass m is supported by two massless wires against gravity. The left wire makes an angle ϕ1 with the horizontal, and the right wire makes an angle ϕ2. The bar has length L. Find the position of the center of mass of the bar, x, measured from...- chongkuan123

Rotational Energy, Moment of Inertia Problem
Homework Statement Energy is released by the Crab Nebula at a rate of about 5×10^31W, about 105 times the rate at which the sun radiates energy. The Crab Nebula obtains its energy from the rotational kinetic energy of a rapidly spinning neutron star at its center. This object rotates once...- chongkuan123
