KMnO4 Titration, why does it need to be in an acid?
Okay, so the above reaction couldn't take place without the hydrogen ions. Would a different reaction occur? Or would no reaction occur? My best guess would be something like: Fe2+ + MnO4- => MnO2 + O2 + Fe3+?- colink96

KMnO4 Titration, why does it need to be in an acid?
1. Homework Statement Fe(NH4)2(SO4)2*6H2O is mixed with H2SO4 and then titrated with KMnO4 until the equivalence point is reached. The question I am confused with is: What might have been the product(s) in the original solution if it had remained neutral? (if the solution was not acidified...- colink96

What Is the Minimum Diameter for a 600kV DC Transmission Line with 2% Loss?
Thanks for the response. How are you saying I should change the values in my equation? Should power be equal to .98 * 300MW?- colink96

What Is the Minimum Diameter for a 600kV DC Transmission Line with 2% Loss?
Homework Statement You have been asked to develop a cross-country DC electrical transmission line to deliver 300MW of power to a town 200km away. This design is to only have a 2% loss (98% efficiency). If the line voltage is 600kV, what is the minimum diameter that the aluminum wire can be...- colink96
