Fluid Dynamics Help (Force with a dynamic viscosity)
I was considering, would I end up using the shear force (calculated using the force already found). The result from doing that is about a 37% reduction, which seems much more realistic. (V=F/A) For the future I'll be sure to crop and use the ISO standards.- Colt 45 J

Fluid Dynamics Help (Force with a dynamic viscosity)
Problem Statement A 50cm by 30cm by 20cm block weighing 150N is to be moved at a constant velocity of .8 m/s on an inclined surface with a friction coefficient of 0.27. (a) Determine the force f that needs to be applied in the horizontal direction. (b) if a .4mm thick oil film with a dynamic...- Colt 45 J

Average Shear Stress on a Plate
Ah originally it was because with a rectangular element it's usually double shear instead of single, in the case of the answer thank you, as I had put a typo and meant to put 8000N in instead of the 4000, the answer was calculated using the 8000 however and is correct.- Colt 45 J

Average Shear Stress on a Plate
1. Problem Statement The long bolt passes through the 30-mm-thick plate. If the force in the bolt shank is 8kN, determine the average normal stress in the shank, the average shear stress along the cylindrical area of the plate defined by the section lines a-a, and the average shear stress in the...- Colt 45 J
