Graduate Double Slit Experiment with White Light and one Slit colour filtered
Yes, that's what I mean in the second scenario. In the first scenario, the monochromatic light passing through the filtered slit interacts with the same wavelength going through the unfiltered slit. The other wavelengths of the white light are unaffected.- Commando Spaz

Graduate Double Slit Experiment with White Light and one Slit colour filtered
What would happen if the double slit experiment were to be undertaken using white light, and one of the slits was covered by a monochromatic filter (i.e. something which only one wavelength could pass through), and apart from this there was no detector monitoring which slit each photon was...- Commando Spaz

Graduate Double slit experiment with magnets
Thanks mfb, Would the result be the same if this experiment were conducted in a vacuum, and far enough underground to sufficiently reduce background radiation?- Commando Spaz

Graduate Double slit experiment with magnets
Hi everyone, Lately I have been reading about the double slit experiment, I am wondering if it would be possible to recreate this experiment with visibly large objects using magnetism. The experiment I was thinking might be able to do this is as follows: There are two vertical tubes, a...- Commando Spaz

Undergrad Recreating double slit experiment without laser
Thanks 256bits, I understand what you are saying, but there is a specific reason which I do not want to explain for not using monochromatic light. Didn't Young conduct this experiment using sunlight? I don't care about how well defined the interference pattern is, I just want to be able to...- Commando Spaz

Undergrad Recreating double slit experiment without laser
Hello, I am trying to recreate the double slit experiment using ordinary light, i.e. sunlight or light from a light bulb or torch. I do not wish to use a laser for various reasons. I have experimented with the distance, spacing, and width of the slits, but I cannot get an interference...- Commando Spaz

Graduate Time Dilation: An Overview of an Experiment
Hello, It is my understanding that in the case of two observers (A and B) passing each other at high speeds that due to time dilation observer A would be moving in slow motion with respect to observer B, whereas observer B would be moving in slow motion relative to observer A (i.e. each...- Commando Spaz

Graduate Implications of constant speed of light in all inertial frames
Thanks for the reply, I'm not literally suggesting that ships could actually travel at light speed, I'm using this unrealistic example for the sake of simplicity, I guess to make the scenario more realistic I could have had the two ships gradually speeding up in tandem to near light speeds, I'm...- Commando Spaz

Thanks for the reply, I am talking theoretically, so please disregard technicalities like ships not being able to achieve light speed.- Commando Spaz

Graduate Implications of constant speed of light in all inertial frames
Hello, Lately I have been wondering about the implications of the speed of light being constant for all observers, to me this seems to imply that there are different versions of reality for different observers. I will use a scenario to illustrate my reasoning. After you read this I would like...- Commando Spaz
