What Mistakes Did I Make in Calculating Mars Physics Problems?

Hi, I need a little help on a problem I did. I've most of the solutions but I think they're all wrong, can someone help me point out what I did wrong? Here is the problem: The Sojourner rover vehicle was used to explore the surface of Mars in 1997. Here is some info to aid solving the...

    Explaining Sin(x+h) = sinxcosh + cosxsinh

Can somebody please explain to me why sin(x+h) = sinxcosh + cosxsinh in detail.

Momentum + Friction force = me depressed

Sorry, some people (like myself) aren't well equipped with physics skills and know right off the bat what " Use conservation of momentum, then work the final speed for the block." means totally. Cyclo you've helped me out many times man, can u explain just a bit more. It is a new topic that...

Momentum + Friction force = me depressed

Hey guys, I need help on some physics problems again. A 15g bullet strikes and becomes embedded in a 1.10kg block of wood placed on a horizontal surface just in front of the gun. If the coefficient of kinetic friction between the block and the surface is 0.25, and the impact drives the block...

Calculating Force Exerted by 1000kg Car on 450kg Trailer

Well I figured out that problem. Here is another one, please assist me. At an accident scene on a level road, investigators measure a car;s skid mark to be 88m long. It was a rainy day and the coefficient of friction was estimated to be 0.42. Use these dta to determine the speed of the car...

Calculating Force Exerted by 1000kg Car on 450kg Trailer

I don't get why adding the friction force to 3500N is logical? Can you please explain it to me.

Calculating Force Exerted by 1000kg Car on 450kg Trailer

The problem is, a 1000kg car pulls a 450kg trailer. The car exerts a horizontal force of 3500N against the ground in order to accelerate. What force does the car exert on the trailer? Assume a friction coefficient of 0.15 for the trailer.

Max Angle for Parking on Steep Hill: Coefficient of Friction Calculation

I'm sure I will get better as time progress, thank you for the warm welcome for I am sure I will be coming here A LOT during the school year. Well...another problem already. A car can decelerate at -5.10 m/s^2 w/o skidding when coming to rest on a level road. What would its deceleration be...

Max Angle for Parking on Steep Hill: Coefficient of Friction Calculation

Forces analysis..meaning the Friction Force = Ums + Fn equation?? The component of force of gravity will simply be Fwsin? right. I am so bad in physics...

Max Angle for Parking on Steep Hill: Coefficient of Friction Calculation

The coefficient of friction between hard rubber and normal street pavement is about 0.8. On how steep a hill (max angle) can you leave a car parked? I have no idea how to do it since it doesn't give you the weight or anything.
