High School Calculating Math Quartiles - Is That Right?
Just checking ... In an ordered set of data: The lower quartile, Q1 = 1/4(n+1)th term within the series; The median, Q2 = 1/2(n+1)th term within the series; The upper quartile, Q3 = 3/4(n+1)th term within the series; The interquartile, IQ = Q3 - Q1 The semi-interquartile, SIQ...- DrWarezz

Graduate Time Dilation & Frame of Reference: Who's Time Slows Down?
Thanks all. I still don't get how you know who is accelerating. For example, A is accelerating relative to B as much as B is accelerating relative to A. How is the symmetry broken? Shouldn't As time dilate relative to B, equally, Bs time should dilate relative to A? I understand...- DrWarezz

High School Calculate what number x needs to be, to make y 0 ?
:o\ Thanks everyone! lol I'm kind of confused. I'm just a young student, and I got those numbers from a preliminary experiment. I figured that by using those numbers, could give a pretty accurate result, without even doing the final. It appears that you lot have figured it out? Could you...- DrWarezz

High School The difference between speed and velocity
Hi all, I think the title says it all :P.. What is the difference between velocity and speed? I understand that velocity is a fair bit more complicated than speed. However, I often use the word "velocity" but meaning speed. At school, the teachers say "just assume that speed and velocity... -

Graduate Time Dilation & Frame of Reference: Who's Time Slows Down?
Hi all, I know that this isn't a "flaw" in SR. So, I'm not here claiming to have found an amazing flaw in SR. lol. I actually read about this flaw I think, and thus, probably read the solution, however, it was some time ago. So, can anyone enlighten me here please? :) It's related to time...- DrWarezz

High School Calculate what number x needs to be, to make y 0 ?
Yeah, sorry. I mean: When x = 0, y = +0.16 When x = 1, y = -0.38 When x = 2, y = -0.43 And the question is, what must x be, so that y = 0? Sorry for not being to specific at the start.. Can this be worked out? Sorry, when you say: What do you mean, by the f() function? :o\...- DrWarezz

High School Calculate what number x needs to be, to make y 0 ?
#m = 0g Hi all, Is it possible to calculate what number x needs to be, to make y 0 ? An experiment shows that: x = y 0 = +0.16 1 = -0.38 2 = -0.43 Can I work out from that what x needs to be (it can be as many decimals as you want :-p) for y to equal 0...- DrWarezz

Undergrad What Is the Frame of Reference for Measuring Velocity?
Okay.. so, what is ment exactly if an objects mass increases? Do the particles become more compressed? Thanks a lot, [r.D]- DrWarezz

Graduate What causes space curves? Energy or rest mass?
Hi, sorry to 'barge in on this convo', but could someone explain what is ment by "warped space-time"? :o\ I'm kinda new to all this, and I've read and heard of it all too many times. I just don't get it. Anyone? :o) Thanks in advance, [r.D]- DrWarezz

Undergrad What Is the Frame of Reference for Measuring Velocity?
Thanks :) lol Oh, also: This is kind of embarrassing to ask, but; What is 'mass' exactly? What differs it from matter, and what happens when an objects mass increases? :o\ Thanks a lot, [r.D]- DrWarezz
