    Finding derivative of Trig. Functions

Homework Statement h(x) = (sin2x)(cos2x) Homework Equations I attempted to use the product rule: (sin2x)(-sin2x)+(cos2x)(cos2x) = cos22x-sin22x The Attempt at a Solution The book has the answer at 2cos4x, which I obviously didn't get. I've retraced my steps and while unsure...

    Exponential Equation: Solve 4x+7=18

Okay, so I attempted a change of base and got this: ln11/ln4 ~ 1.729 Is this how it eventually would end up? Thanks for all your help! Logarithms are just driving me nuts for some reason

    Exponential Equation: Solve 4x+7=18

Okay, I think I'm on the right track but I'm still not sure where to go with this: 4log411= ?

    Exponential Equation: Solve 4x+7=18

Homework Statement Solve for x: 4x+7=18 Homework Equations It becomes 4x=11 The Attempt at a Solution I have no idea where to go from here. We never had a problem with such an immovable number such as 11 to work with. Calculators are not allowed to be used either.

Finding zeros of a quartic function

They both equal zero. I already understood that part, but my teacher is asking for any remaining factors of f(x). I used my graphing calculator and saw f(-3) is another zero, but I don't know how to factor f(x) to algebraically find f(-3) as a zero.

Finding zeros of a quartic function

Homework Statement The problem states: Consider the function f(x)=x4-8x3+2x2+80x-75 a) Verify that x-1 and x-5 are factors b) Find the remaining factors of f(x) c) List all real zeros Homework Equations I did synthetic division to prove that 1 and 5 are factors, yet I'm having...
