Further to the above-
Both of the asterix'd compounds are salts.. hint...
Silver Nitrate is commonly used to extract halides.
Potassium Sulfate is commonly used as a disintergrating agent.
Good luck!
I would use chomatography (including GC), mass-spec and IR-spec to determine probable compounds.
If these are not available, looks like a fair bit of thinking will be needed ;)
Rain contains other compunds, including (but not limited to) NOx's and CO2.
Heavy water contains D instead of H...
If by pure substance you mean H2O, then both can be impure dependant upon the amounts of D or Co2 etc in solution.
Thank you :)
I found this paper not long after posting this, and it is still one of the only papers I can find actually stating PAH solubility in a manner that is not a theoretical model!
I much appreciate your assistance.
A good First year Geology textbok should cover Igneous rock formations.
Looking at radioactive decay of the mineral crystal lattice is more of an inorganic chemistry or physics problem, but here should be texts out there on the topic.
Hello all,
I am struggling to find papers or textbooks that can give me the solubility (mg/L or similar) of Benzo(a)pyrene and other PAH's in pure water at STP...
Does anyone hava link they can direct me towards for this, my SI Data book has nothing on the solubility of PAH's.
Thanks-
Some of the names you have types are nonsense, and refer to hydrated states, not actual compounds. You may want to read up on "Hydrates".
The only two I know are used in food are KI and zinc sulphate, due to their ability to provide small nutritional value at low concentrations.
Blue Vitriol...
The above answers are indeed correct.
Cyclo- butane adn propane are very real, and can be formed.
The answers lie in VESPR thory, relating to the stability (or instability) of the relative orbitals, such as the sp^x hybridized orbits necessary for this particular type of bonding...
The solution to the question on conductivity has already been answered by The Bob (above), if you want more detail on this look into the VB (valance bonding) theory, or VSEPR for carbon, and then look at the way carbon bonds to form graphite and diamond, and the manner in which free electrons...
Dont quote me on this,
but I would say that arcing increases the amount of ozone emitted from the device, due to more energy available in contact with air to cleave oxygen gas.
However, the plates will probably continue to attract dust, possible until there is such a thick cover that O2 is...
How do you know what the reaction will physically look like if you combine two meterials? Like Magnesium + water = a bright fire, etc.
Study, study, study...
The universe is far to vast and complex for us ol' humans too try and measure if the entire universe is at equilibrium. I think its far easier to just assume the universe is not at equilibrium.
As far as i know, entropy can decrease, as in many spontanious chemical reactions where gas is...
