How to Calculate the Biogas Volume of an Anaerobic Digester?

Organic matters like maize silage, grass silage, cow dung etc have their volumetric biogas yield per kg of organic matters. You can find them by googling sth like "biogas pdf"

Reactor volume in anaerobic biodegradation process

UASB digesters has very short RT of few hours to few days. They can handle very large amount of substrates and the bulk of the substrate is liquid.

    Carbon dioxide removal from biogas

Search google for "co2 water scrubber for biogas". It is a tank with some parking materials (plastic balls). Compressed biogas at 1000kpa comes from the bottom to mix with compressed water (1200kpa) coming from the top. Co2 dissolve in the water and purified biogas is gotten from the top of the...

Hit by a car on my bike, am I at fault?

GO1, I'm happy you're fine. Any time you drive, keep looking out for mad drivers who won't be looking out for you. You owe God a lot for keeping you alive - we all do.

Ideas for final year project of mechanical engineering

What of designing a linear generator? That's what I'm currently working on with my group. We intend designing it for use in traffic actuated, power producing speed bumps.

Making Bar Magnets: Heating & B Field Placement

Another way to know the poles of an electromagnet is to use the direction of current flow. At the north end, current flows in anticlockwise direction while at the south end, current flows in clockwise direction.

How to Calculate Mechanical and Electromagnetic Damping?

Hi jsgruszynski, thanks for coming back. Actually, I don't really understand most of what you said. Can you please go through the attempt at solution and tell me if I'm correct. I just want an expression for the power output of the arrangement.

How to Calculate Mechanical and Electromagnetic Damping?

I have gone through Fig 4 and section 2.5. Actually I have come across that configuration in one of my ebooks, but the configuration is very different from the one I'm working on. Mine is just a magnet moving in a coil of wire as shown in the diagrams.

How to Calculate Mechanical and Electromagnetic Damping?

I have downloaded the two ebooks and looked into them, but I couldn't read much meaning into them. If you can help me with a step by step solution I will appreciate it. However, let me make the following attempt at solution: I wish to calculate the power output of the system when it is...

How to Calculate Mechanical and Electromagnetic Damping?

Sorry for my long delay. Preparation for a seminar defence has been tying me down. @jsgruszynski > the lumped circuit equation for the electrical portion is Lq''+Rq'+kq=e(t). That of mechanical portion is mx''+Cx'+kx=f(t). I don't know how to get an expression 4 the damping coefficient, C from...

General Solution of the first order differential equation

I think that this is a linear equation that requires an integrating factor of the form: exp(1)dt. Multiply both side of the equation by this factor. The LHS reduce to d(y.exp(t))/dt. You can then integrate both side.
