    Kinematics: finding the average acceleration

I cannot begin to express my gratitude for the time you spent in explaining this to me. That is honestly the most clear-cut and simple way I have heard functions described. Thank you very much. The problem has been solved and I shouldn't ever have issues with functions again thanks to you, my...

    Kinematics: finding the average acceleration

Wasn't my final answer. I needed to get either the final velocity or initial velocity out of that equation. What my issue was is that I didn't know which. I asked a friend and he helped me figure it out. My final answer was 15.4275000 or 15.4m/s2 as the sig fig would require.

    Kinematics: finding the average acceleration

Thanks for the reply! To answer your question about functions, no, not particularly; I've worked with them a little bit in college algebra last semester, but that's it. And my final velocity (3.63) - my initial velocity (0) = 3.63s, I thought that the 3.63s was my time, not velocity? I must have...

I'm working on my Trigonometry as we type. (hence the reason I am just now replying. ha ha) I'll be sure to check out OCW, and thank you for the clear contrast between what primary and secondary sources are in mathematics. Are there any habits I need to avoid or any that I need to form to...

Ah! Thank you! And I will be here until June of 2014. I will be going through the summer mini-terms. After Trigonometry, I am scheduled for Calculus I-IV and Differential Equations to finish it up. (I will post a copy+paste of the rest of my schedule after this reply.) And those are some good...

I am sorry. I left out my actual questions as a result of revising my last few statements. (Hence the jumbled mess that they are) My actual questions sounded a bit unconfident and that really wouldn't support my claim of having motivation or a "drive" consequently, I didn't ask them. At last, my...

Let me start this off by informing you a little about myself. I am a Freshman at my local community college. I am majoring in Biological Science (that's the only science major of study here; kind of covers it all.) I am majoring in Physics as my field of study, however. Physics has always...
