Stuck on a D.E. Quiz Problem: Help Appreciated!
I'm reviewing for a D.E. quiz, and I came across this problem. Solve the IVP y'=1+x+y+xy, y(0)=0 I feel as if it's terribly simple and my brain is simply not clicking. Any help would be appreciated.- Hyrox

Graduate Wavelength Less Than Planck Length?
Haha, yup. I've heard that exact same scale. I've also heard it scaled with a googol. The diameter of the observable universe is supposed to be just over a googol Planck lengths.- Hyrox

Graduate Wavelength Less Than Planck Length?
Definitely. The de Broglie of a macroscopic object is: de Broglie wavelength = (h/momentum) So, for a car weighing, say, one thousand kilograms, moving at 60 km/hr... (6.62608 x 10^(-34) kg m^2 s^(-1))/(1000 kg x 16.667 m s^(-1)) = 3.97557 x 10^(-38) m Since the Planck length is...- Hyrox

Graduate Time as a series of interactions
I didn't think it was that bad. I loved the book. I'm currently reading The Fabric of the Cosmos. I can't say he's done a great job of convincing me to believe in string theory though...I'm rather skeptical about it.- Hyrox

Graduate Time as a series of interactions
The first time I heard it explained like that (I think) was when I read The Elegant Universe by Brian Greene.- Hyrox

Graduate Time as a series of interactions
Just out of curiosity, it was Einstein who originally said that, right? I understood that was what the Special Theory of Relativity was all about, how everything traveled through space/time at the speed of light.- Hyrox

What Values of p Make These Mathematical Series Converge?
Okay, let's see. I stopped here: uv - ∫vdu = ((lnx)(x^1-p))/(1-p) - ∫[(x^(1-p))/(x(1-p))]dx and then I picked back up. \frac{lnx(x)^{1-p}}{1-p} - \frac{1}{1-p} ∫x^(-p) = lim n→∞ \frac{ln(x)^{1-p}}{1-p} - \frac{x^{1-p}}{(1-p)^{2}} At this point, I said that the limit converges for all...- Hyrox

What Values of p Make These Mathematical Series Converge?
for what values of p does... Homework Statement Find the values of p for which the series is convergent: Homework Equations There are two separate problems I'm having problems with here. The first is: n=1 to n=∞ ∑ 1/(n(lnn)^p) The second is: n=1 to n=∞ ∑ ln(n)/(n^p) The Attempt at a...- Hyrox
