Finding Maclaurin Error < 0.0001 for f(x)=cos(2x) at x=0.6
Here's the problem: Determine the degree of Maclaurin polynomial required for the error to be less than .0001 if f(x)=cos(2x) and you are approximating f(0.6) I really don't know what I am doing. Here's what I've tried to do: Rn(.6) = ( (f^(n+1)(z)) / (n+1)! ) (.6)^(n+1) I don't...- kenny87

Find Osmolarity of Potato Cores | Lab Tips
I'm sorry, but I'm still really confused. I didn't see any information on that page concerning potato slices and the particles that will ionize, etc. I really, really don't know what to do here. I understand the how to find osmolarity: n*moles where n is the number of particles that will...- kenny87

Find Osmolarity of Potato Cores | Lab Tips
I know that ones with a negative percent difference will be hypertonic, and the ones with a positive difference are hypotonic; but I still don't see how to find the osmolarity... I was looking on the internet and I found a sample AP test with the exact same question potato and all, so I know...- kenny87

Find Osmolarity of Potato Cores | Lab Tips
Potato Osmolarity...Again Hi, after doing a diffusion/osmosis lab, I am being asked to determine the osmolarity of a the potato cores. We recorded the cores' initial mass, placed them in sucrose solutions of varying molarities, and then weighed them one day later. Here are my results...- kenny87

Find Osmolarity of Potato Cores | Lab Tips
We did a lab in my class where we put slices of potatoe into solutions with different molar concentrations of sucrose. Now, I am asked to find the osmolarity of the potatoe cores. How do I do this?- kenny87

Termite Pheromone Trail: Bic Pen Attraction Discovery
Hi! I'm doing a project about pheromones in which I talk about the termite pheromone trail and the reasons that they follow ink from some ballpoint pens. I've been trying to figure out who was credited with the Bic pen "attraction" and how/why it was discovered. If anyone has any idea as to...- kenny87

Solving Integral Issues: "If b∫f(x)dx = a + 2b, then ∫ (f(x) + 5)dx?
how do i figure dx in this case? do i use g(x) or f(x)?- kenny87

Solving Integral Issues: "If b∫f(x)dx = a + 2b, then ∫ (f(x) + 5)dx?
Yeah, that's what I meant to say. So in this problem: If f(x)=g(x)+7 from 3 to 5, then the integral from 3 to 5 of [f(x)+g(x)]dx is? Can I just use the same method and get 5 2 ∫ g(x)dx+7 3- kenny87

Ok, so then I just do 5(b-a)?- kenny87

So would it be just a+2b+5?- kenny87

Finding the Area Between y=x^2 and y=-x from 0 to 2: Solution and Verification
can you explain to me the process you used to get that? what i did: 1/3*x^3 - 1/2*x^2 and then evaluated it at 2 and 0... what did i do wrong?- kenny87

Finding the Area Between y=x^2 and y=-x from 0 to 2: Solution and Verification
I think that they're going for the area beneath x^2 and above -x with the boundaries of x=0 and x=2. I know 1/6 isn't the correct answer because its not one of the choices... the choices are 2/3, 8/3, 4, 14/3, and 16/3 these are ap problems and i know they try to trick you though, so I...- kenny87
