Ammonium hydroxide Percent to normality conversion
Hi all, I was trying to make a 0.3N ammonium hydroxide solution from the stock (Fluka). The label on the stock says it is "10% assay in water", what does it mean? Is it 10% v/v? How should I prepare a 1ml 0.3N ammonium hydroxide? I don't quite understand the solute mass equivalent concept of... -

How Do You Calculate Thermodynamic Properties in Different Expansion Processes?
Hi all , I have 2 questions, I don't know how to derive the equations, please help. Thank you. 1)A reversible adiabatic expansion of 2.5 moles or He from a volume 9L at 300K to a final volume of 28L. Find work(W), heat(Q), internal energy(U) and enthalpy change(H) and final temperature. (He...- KKAK

Relative basicity of two molecules.
Hi can someone explain to me why is N-Acetylpiperidine is a weaker base than 1-aza-2-2oxobicyclo[2.2.2]octane ? Is it something about the ability to protonate the molecules ? thank you -

How can H-NMR graph peaks be used to determine enol-keto ratio?
Here is an example I found on the internet with the result. I don't know how they get this result. The product I will be getting to analyze is 2-acetylcyclohexanone, I want to understand the concept before I go ahead and do it. thank you file is zipped with a *.jpeg file, no virus. -

How can H-NMR graph peaks be used to determine enol-keto ratio?
Hi can someone help me on how to determine the enol and keto content from a H-NMR graph ? I know we have to use the integration of the peaks to find the ratio, but I just don't quite get it(like which peaks I should use). It would be great if someone can provide a detailed example. Thanks -

Organic Chemistry Lab Questions: pKa of p-Chlorophenol
Thank you chem_tr and altered-gravity. Yeah, after you explained it, I realized that he did mention something similar in his notes, I just didn't make the right connections. Now it makes a lot more sense ! thanks -

Organic Chemistry Lab Questions: pKa of p-Chlorophenol
Hi all I am doing this lab in my organic course right now, and I have a few questions. The phenol I am working on is pKa of p-chlorophenol. I obtained a UV spectrum of phenol in acid, phenol in base, phenol in buffer with higher pH and phenol in buffer with lower pH. 1)In the UV spectrum...
