Discrepancy between oxygen and carbon-dioxide levels

It looks this way only if one considers that air density was always close to today's one. Most likely original atmosphere was few times denser, maybe even 10 times. This is not very far fetched, if we compare Earth with Venus, which still holds100 times more air. So, if our original...

Discrepancy between oxygen and carbon-dioxide levels

Yes, all the sequestration of CO2 from air can explain why there is so little of it after 4 billion years. My problem is that I can't find viable explanation why there is so much of oxygen in relation to CO2, the supposedly main source of it. Did anyone see any numbers explaining O2 production?

How Does Weather Behave Inside a Rotating Cylindrical Spaceship?

One more thing. I'm pretty sure that in a big cylinder like yours, the wind currents will be established, like rovers flowing around more stationary air. There will be one or maybe more currents flowing of colder air by the ground, from one end snaking around in pattern of helix, to the other...

How Does Weather Behave Inside a Rotating Cylindrical Spaceship?

If I may add something about air circulation. In stationary cylinder, in zero gravity, hot air would stay at hot end and cold air on cold end, with gradual temperature changes from one end to other. When cylinder spins it will make, by friction, air spin in direction of the spin. This will...

Discrepancy between oxygen and carbon-dioxide levels

Does anyone have explanation, or can point me to papers explaining this thread title? Personally, I did some reading through years, but I could never find an answer to this question. In short, here is what I learned so far: Oxygen: - in free form, is a product of photosynthesis of...

Does Galactic Rotation Cause Frame Dragging?

Hi, one question. Are there any calculations to figure out frame dragging, or the strength of frame dragging is purely "intuitively implied" (in case the math is prohibitively complex)? Edit: Never mind, I've read up on this one.

What happens when two photons travel at the speed of light?

Is that right, guys? Let’s say, in Earth frame the speed of light is 300,000 km/s. Now when we fly close to speed of light and the clock goes slow, will the speed of light change according to onboard clock? The speed of light is same for all frames, but clocks work with different speed for...

What happens when two photons travel at the speed of light?

Thanks for the link. Thanx guys, it sounds very intriguing and a new challenge in understanding the world, it should be a great reeding. As soon as I find some quiet moment or two, as it will require analyzing of those equations, and retraining my brain for relativistic thinking. From the...

What happens when two photons travel at the speed of light?

Hi folks, I’ve got a good one. Let’s clean up the space, no stars, light other matter, so we have no reference points but two bodies A and B. A and B fly away from each other with speeds close to c each, so they recede at close to 2c. Now, looking from reference frame of body A; I could say...

Does Time Really Exist? Debunking Common Beliefs

modmans2ndcoming I think I know what you meant. The same you can say about space. You need relations to figure out if something is moving in space. You need relations to say how something is moving through the time line. But it does not answer the question about the nature of time. Is...

Does Time Really Exist? Debunking Common Beliefs

Thanks brodix for responding. I did some thinking about what you said about employing an idea of the frame for these two clocks situation. Then I run into problems with that. One is that if just only one of them were accelerating they both would approach the speed of light at the same time...

Does Time Really Exist? Debunking Common Beliefs

Can you gentleman, explain this. We have an empty space (no reference points). In this space we have to clocks side by side at rest to each other. Now one clock accelerates from the other. How will they show time relatively to each other. Is one ticking faster than the other or are they...

Does Time Really Exist? Debunking Common Beliefs

what if there is no time? For a week I'm thinking about what's time. I have an idea that looks good to me so I decided to share with ppl. looking for the answer  . What do you think? Here it goes. (can't explain it better, english is my second language) Imagine...
