Can anyone tell me how James Stewart's Calculus (Fourth Edition) is divided into Calculus 1, 2, and 3 (which chapters belong to each subject)?
I've heard that it contains all three but I cannot see any clear division. Also, where does multivariable Calculus fit-is it part of 1, 2, or 3, or is...
I'm in high school (also correction: she). It's not a huge school, so there is not much selection with computer langauges. Also, I rechecked and the local college also offers some classes in Perl, Linux, and others. However I'm surprised that there was such a selection at ComputerGeek's school...
Well, at my school they only teach QBasic, Visual Baisc, and C++. At the local college I might take some classes, but I think they only offer C++ and Java. Any others I would need to teach myself (if I took up a seperate computer language it would just give me another excuse not to do school...
Thank you very much, my questiosn were all answered between this post and my class, except for the question about the line input prompt. Is that the same as input? If not, what is the difference? Thank you for the assistance. P.S. Whether or not QBasic is the best it is generally seen as the...
There are a few things that I can't remember learning in my Computer Programming class, and I haven't been able to find the answers. Can anyone tell me how to:
-round a number to a certain number of decimal places?
-use dates (month day, year) as response to input as a single variable...
Thank you, I hope so, it would be impossible for me to get a 3.73 or a 3.9 at this point. I know that they're weighted in some way because they show the 50% ranges on their website which exceed 4.0. Could anyone give me an idea of the average GPA of the students of either school before their...
I was reading about these colleges and was surprised to see that their average GPAs are in the same area as the admittants to Ivy league schools. The average GPAs are around 3.73 and 3.9. My question is how much are they weighted? Are the GPAs actually that high or are they just really weighted...
Wow, that's great. Thank you. I've actually recieved the book and it's similar to the precalculus book that we use and so far it's been a really great book (clear, understandable,etc.).
I was intending to take BC but I'm confused now because the teacher said something about AB material on the exam and that you would need to take AB first, and AB is paired with Math Analysis (which I've heard is pretty much just an extension to make the class two hours long) and I don't...
I was considering taking AP Statistics, but eventually decided not to because supposedly a majority of the people that do well have taken regular Statistics first. It's really easy though so far, and my teacher, who also teaches AP, said that the only difference was the pacing of the class. I...
Thank you very much, you've been very helpful. Once I get the book if/when I have any problems I will ask my teachers, thanks for the advice.
That's a good point, I've only taken Algebra 1 & 2, Geometry, and am currently in Precalculus and Probability and Statistics, and I've learned only some of the basic ideas of Calculus through both my Precalculus and Physics classes and some reading I've done. Does Calculus play an important role...
