This is something that has intrigued me for a while. When a matter and anti-matter colide, they destroy each other in a massive burst of energy.(cassimir effect).
Is it possible that these collisions create space between objects?
I believe this would better explain the expansion of the universe...
Thanks for your reply.i will keep an eye out for the book.
I can sort of understand why time is considered as the 4th dimension.however, would it not make more sense for time to be the 1st dimension?
Sorry if this is in the wrong place but I am at work so i need to be quick.
What is time?is it just a way of measuring events or is it a physical thing?
If time can be affected by traveling at high speeds over great distances, or by the gravitational pull of a large/massive body in space, does...
Just a quick question
Are the planets totaly locked in there orbits forever or do they slowly get drawn in closer to the sun?either by the sun's gravitational pull or simply by the sun expanding?
Thanks in advance for any replys
mike
thanks mgb_phys. So, if the larger bodies can hold on to gas, then what would happen to the gas if it was heated sufficiently to "de-frost" it? Would you expect to see something simmilar to Pluto when it slips inside Neptunes orbit (Very thin, unstable atmosphere)?
I haven't got an answer to my last post but I've got another question.
What gasses are present in the dwarf planets and other larger kuiperbelt objects? Are they simmilar to the gasses in the gas giant?
