Photographing a Bird: Solve for Camera Lens Focus

so would it be the larger hypo. (5.25) and the smaller hypo. (2.57) added together (7.82)-- is that right?

Photographing a Bird: Solve for Camera Lens Focus

i don't understand what is wrong the equation, this is for the small triangle (bird-hedge-mirror) right?

Photographing a Bird: Solve for Camera Lens Focus

the image of the bird is located the same distance in front of the mirror as it is behind the mirror - 2.1 m is that right?

Photographing a Bird: Solve for Camera Lens Focus

here is what i tried: tan (theta) = (4.5 - z)/2.1 tan (theta) = z / 4.3 I found z to be 3.02, and theta to equal 35.1 then I found the hypo. to be 5.25, I submitted this answer but it is not the correct one, where am I going wrong?

Photographing a Bird: Solve for Camera Lens Focus

so for the small triangle it would be tan (theta) = z / 2.1 ?

Photographing a Bird: Solve for Camera Lens Focus

so, would one expression be tan (theta) = z / 4.3 ? how do you find the other expression?

Photographing a Bird: Solve for Camera Lens Focus

i think the length is equal to the hypo. of the right triangle formed between the camera and the mirror

Photographing a Bird: Solve for Camera Lens Focus

Hi! I am having trouble with this question: You are trying to photograph a bird sitting on a tree branch, but a tall hedge is blocking your view. However, as the drawing shows, a plane mirror reflects light from the bird into your camera. If x = 4.3 m and y = 4.5 m in the drawing, for what...

How Long Does a Call Take Between Quito and Belem via Satellite?

I've got a question I'm working on: A communications satellite is in an orbit that is 3.2 X 10^7 m directly above the equator. Consider the moment when the satellite is located midway between Quito, Equador, and Belem, Brazil; two cities almost on the equator that are separated by a...

    Pendulum string and ball question

Hi! Here is a phyics problem I am having trouble with: A simple pendulum is made from a 0.58 m long string and a small ball attached to its free end. The ball is pulled to one side through a small angle and then released from rest. After the ball is released, how much time elapses before it...

Solve Physics Problem: Average Electrical Energy Dissipated

I got it! I made a calculation error earlier I got the answer by using this equation: E=Pt where P= equals the average power t= time THANKS so much for helping me through this problem, you are the best!

Solve Physics Problem: Average Electrical Energy Dissipated

the units are V, so .0422 V P= (V^2)/R (via P=IV and V=IR) so I took P= (.0422^2)/.0228 The R came from the circum of the loop times the resistance per unit of length The answer I got was 1.85 J, but this isn't the right answer-- is there something I'm missing?

Solve Physics Problem: Average Electrical Energy Dissipated

I found the EMF to be -.0422 (-NA delta B)/ delta t where N= the number of loops A = area B= magnetic field t= time
