Calculating Rivet Pitch for Plate with 2500 N Load and 0.8 mm Thickness
Exactly, I need max possible spacing between rivets for attaching stringers to the plate. Sorry, yeah, that was a stupid typo. :D- ozzolins

Calculating Rivet Pitch for Plate with 2500 N Load and 0.8 mm Thickness
Well, we have some restrictions for this project so we decided to use two ribs (in the middle) and 8 stringers - in the corners between plates and 2x2 stringers on top and bottom plates as shown in picture. Box ends will be open, so no plates there. But still question remains.. How to determine...- ozzolins

Calculating Rivet Pitch for Plate with 2500 N Load and 0.8 mm Thickness
Ok, I kind of gave you misleading info. I forgot to mention that in grey areas rivets cannot be placed because this box will be put into bending machine and in these places it will be clamped. Furthermore, there will be stringers inside the box and rivets will be bolted through them (so in...- ozzolins

Calculating Rivet Pitch for Plate with 2500 N Load and 0.8 mm Thickness
Here are the calculation steps: https://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/585x597q90/30/0jso.png [I hope the step where I calculate area is straight-forward, it's just basic geometry] E modulus was given in 72400 MPa, but it's the same as 72400 N/mm^2 right?- ozzolins

Calculating Rivet Pitch for Plate with 2500 N Load and 0.8 mm Thickness
Hi guys! I have assignments and we are trying to get to reasonable value for more than 2 days and still nothing... Okay.. problem is: https://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/705x238q90/191/6qqd.png picture of the plate: https://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/412x395q90/835/7u81.png F =...- ozzolins

What is the magnitude of force vector?
Why do you think it's 58.264N? I made a mistake writing it down in the first post. This is only part of exercise. There was resultant moment given of 115 N*m, and distance between Fr and point O (where this moment happens) was 0.575 meters. So I divided 115 by 0.575m and I got resultant force...- ozzolins

What is the magnitude of force vector?
Unknown F2 value. I came down to: 199.9 = √(0.6x+86.6)2 + (0.8x + 50)2 Though, I can't (don't know how) solve this equations. NB! I made a mistake and resultant force is 199.9 N.- ozzolins

What is the magnitude of force vector?
I know that, but it's a bit more complicated due to the fact that for these forces I need to find x and y components first.- ozzolins

What is the magnitude of force vector?
1. Determine the magnitude of F2 2. How can I find this one force if I know resultant force and other force? Never done this before, that's why I've no idea. 3. Sorry, I have none.- ozzolins

Finding magnitude and directional sense of resultant moment
I would say around z-axis. I don't know why but I somehow don't see the "big picture" of moments. Then Ga is positive and Gw in negative, which leads us to: ƩMo = 110kg*9.81*2.5 - 275kg*9.81*0.5 = 1348.875 N*m = 1.35 kNm ?- ozzolins

Finding magnitude and directional sense of resultant moment
Can you please explain about these coordinates? I'm not sure how to determine whether it's positive or negative. And maybe some example how to solve this exercise?- ozzolins

Finding magnitude and directional sense of resultant moment
Do I understand correctly that I need to find resultant moment which is measured in N*m units? 1. The railway crossing gate consists of the 110-kg gate arm having a center of mass at Ga and the 275-kg counterweight having a center of mass at Gw. Determine the magnitude and directional sense of...- ozzolins
