What is the maximum water speed from a compressed watergun?
Oh, I might have figured it out... I used Bernouilli's equation... constant= P_o + rho (v^2+2gy/2) so... 4P_o = P_o + rho (v^2+2gy/2) then i isolated for v to get the speed... is this correct?- PFCJeff

What is the maximum water speed from a compressed watergun?
Homework Statement A child's water cannon consists of a water chamber that can be compressed by an air pump. If the air above the water in the chamber is compressed to 4 times atmospheric pressure, what is the maximum speed of water from the cannon when the trigger is released? Ignore any...- PFCJeff

Proving solution for Schrodinger's Simple Harmonic Oscillator
after my second derivation, i get 2be^(-bx^2) * (2bx^2 - 1) then i can sub in that equation for b? to me, it doesn't seem right, but i could be wrong...- PFCJeff

Proving solution for Schrodinger's Simple Harmonic Oscillator
i know how to do the chain rule, but I'm having issues with deriving the exponential function (e), PLUS the division in the exponent...it's throwing me off completely, i don't even think I can formulate a proper derivation.- PFCJeff

Proving solution for Schrodinger's Simple Harmonic Oscillator
Homework Statement Hi guys. I've been working on this problem for a while, it's starting to frustrate me. "Show that the function of Ѱ=e^(-bx^2) with b=mw/2ħ is a solution and that the corresponding energy is ħw/2." Homework Equations Schrödinger Eqn...- PFCJeff
