Building an infrared heater element
Yes, the watt density is easy to calculate. I was trying to figure out what temp I had to get the coil to in order to get my epoxy (about 5") away up to temperature. I did find the answer to that question though. Does anyone know what type of heat transfer I'll get if I wrap the coil in a...- privitmj

Tri Axis Accelerometer Data Help
Just a sample (with units) will work. Also, I don't know much about how you are recording this data. Do you have any info on that. Also, what type of accelerometer is it (ICP or charge)?- privitmj

Undergrad Calculating heat generated by a resistance wire
The medium is air. I am basically trying to design my own infrared heating panel to heat an epoxy to 350F. I am not concerned about losses as I plan on over compensating with temperature i.e. designing a coil that will go to 600F or so. Basically i need to figure out how to calculate how much...- privitmj

Undergrad Calculating heat generated by a resistance wire
Or I should say how do I design an electric coil that when energize will heat an object 5" away up to 350F?- privitmj

Tri Axis Accelerometer Data Help
Hi, what type of motion do you expect to see? Sinusoidal or Random? I assume random? Also, what domain is your data recorded in? Time or frequency?- privitmj

Building an infrared heater element
So, as the title describes, I am trying to build an infrared heating element for my own heating panel. I want to use this heater to cure an epoxy at 350F that is about 5" away. I'm an EE so the wiring and such will be simple but the heating calculations are beyond my area of expertise. Here is...- privitmj

Undergrad Calculating heat generated by a resistance wire
How can I calculate how much heat a resistance wire gives off when I energize it? For example, I have calculated the wattage per square inch of a heating element I plan on building. How do I know how much actual heat it will give off? Thanks.- privitmj
