    Substitution Method for Solving Systems of Equations

    Homework Statement 5a = 5 - b 5a = 3 - b Homework Equations The Attempt at a Solution I got the solution set to be 1/2, 5/2 i used substitution for substituting a into b of the second equation, just like they were x's and y's just used a's and b's there is no difference...

    Solving this equality. Then simple plot.

    Yes it holds. and agreed 7x/2, thanks for all the help.

    Finding dimensions of a rectangle.

    thankyou phinds for confirming. Thanks for completing those equations Michael Redei, i seen them done that way and I didn't understand it, its much more clear now.

    Finding slope intercept form.

    Okay, thanks for the advice, ill definitely keep that in mind. So denominators, and numerators from opposite equations can cancel early for fractions.

    Solving this equality. Then simple plot.

    The way this equality is written is correct. So i reworked the problem, and I get this answer instead. 2* 7/2*x >= -1/4 *2 7x >= -1/2 7x/7 >= -1/2 / 7/1 x>= -1/14 which on a number plot should be about 0 to wherever (infinity)? including 0.

    Finding slope intercept form.

    Homework Statement find the slope-intercept form for the line satisfying the following conditions x intercept 2, y intercept 2/3 Please let me know if I solved this correctly. Thankyou. Homework Equations The Attempt at a Solution 2, 0 0,2/3 (2/3 -0) / (0 - 2) 2/3 / -2/1 2/3 * -1/2...

    Solving this equality. Then simple plot.

    Homework Statement 7/2x >= -1/4 then put it on a number plot. Homework Equations The Attempt at a Solution 7x/7 >= -2/4 = -1/2 -1/2 *7/1 = -7/2 x>= -7/2 and I'm not sure if I'm even correct for that answer, and I have to put it on a number plot.

    Finding dimensions of a rectangle.

    Homework Statement the perimeter of a rectangle is 24 ft. the length is 4 ft longer than the width find the dimensions width x length x+4 however, I should be doing it like this: a first equation should start like: 2x+2y=? and the second should start like x=y+? so what's the...

    Adding variables with same exponents

    Homework Statement solve. .2y^3 + .6y^3 - .5y^3 I believe the answer to be .3y^3 Homework Equations The Attempt at a Solution i got the answer to be .8y^3 - .5y^3 = .3y^3 I think this is correct, I'm not sure, please let me know if I finished this correctly.

    Find slope of line, two points on the line are included

    thankyou upon checking my work, i got the m = 6 and the b = 95 and I also used the new point slope formula, thanks.
