    Why is AuCl4 an anion?

Ohhh i get it now, yeah i think i misunderstood it earlier. I do have one more question though why was the Gold [III] was attracting 4 chlorine in the first place why not just 3 to even the charge? (im talking about AuCl4) Is it because it has something to do about Gold being a transition metal?

    Why is AuCl4 an anion?

Hello there can anybody provide an explanation of why AuCl4 is an anion when Au [III] is dative covalent bonded with 4 Chlorine ligands, i don't understand why AuCl4 is an anion when there is no ionic bonding happening here. Thanks!!!

Why does having 8 valence electrons make an element inert?

I was introduced to the Octet Rule recently and make me wonder, why does 8 valence electrons or a full p orbital always make an element inert? What is so special with a full p orbital? Like take Calcium for an example, its outer orbital is filled but its only the s orbital thats filled so its...

Do Spontaneous Reactions actually need activation energy?

Chemistry is so confusing man but interesting at same time.. i like that

Do Spontaneous Reactions actually need activation energy?

So spontaneous reactions can happen without activating anergy it just way to slow it doesn't even happen in the first place and activating energy helps that by speeding up the molecules encouraging collisions and making the reactions happen? Is that what you're saying? Im sorry if im just...

Do Spontaneous Reactions actually need activation energy?

So what you're saying is every spontaneous reaction have some activation barrier they need to overcome and different substance have different activation energy? Nitroglycerin only need a small amount of energy to start and wood needing high temperatures to start?

Do Spontaneous Reactions actually need activation energy?

I've been researching a lot of chemistry lately and one thing confused me, apparently some spontaneous reactions require activating energy? At least thats what i found on Google but would it be contradicting the spontaneous part? Like when i think of spontaneous reaction i think like...

Please explain the reaction between Potassium carbonate and Magnesium

Oooohh so since MgO is more stable than K2CO3 it tends to from MgO in this reaction.. Am i right?

Please explain the reaction between Potassium carbonate and Magnesium

Hello Borek👋, so what you're saying is that the whole reaction is possible is because Mg which is an Alkali earth metal has an affinity to form oxides is that it?
