Thermodynamics Homework: Find Work Given Heat & Temp Change
That's the problem, I don't understand how they relate. Is there a conversion from Kelvin to Joules? Or do I just use 3K = 1380J - W?- Robershky

Thermodynamics Homework: Find Work Given Heat & Temp Change
Homework Statement When 1380 J of heat are added to one mole of an ideal monatomic gas, its temperature increases from 272 K to 275 K. Find the work done by the gas during this process. Homework Equations I assume \DeltaU = Q - W is the formula to use. But for some reason I'm just confused...- Robershky

Which Set-up Has Greater Acceleration?
I think I got it. There would be more acceleration for the person pulling. Right?- Robershky

Which Set-up Has Greater Acceleration?
I see, I forgot to differentiate which mass was which. There is an applied force of 10N, but no mass is used, how does that work?- Robershky

Which Set-up Has Greater Acceleration?
T = ma and for the hanging block -T + mg = ma T = mg - ma plugging it into the first one: mg - ma = ma a = g/2 For case 2 we would have: T = ma -T + F_{applied} = ma T = F_{applied} - ma plugging in for the first 1 F_{applied} - ma = ma a = \frac{10}{2*m}...- Robershky

Which Set-up Has Greater Acceleration?
Homework Statement A Modified Atwood's Machine has a 10 N cart on a frictionless, horizontal track with a 10 N hanging weight attached to a string connecting the two weights. A second track is set up with the hanging weight replaced by a person who can maintain a 10 N pull on the string (as...- Robershky

Is there more to consider when determining if velocity is constant from data?
PhanthomJay: Yeah, I guess the only information I could add is the trend line equation or the slope value. I guess I'll add that and hope it's good enough, thanks.- Robershky

Is there more to consider when determining if velocity is constant from data?
But the graph is for position vs time, which is linear. Therefor the Velocity vs. Time graph would have a slope of 0, making it constant velocity.- Robershky

Is there more to consider when determining if velocity is constant from data?
I am doing make-up questions from my General Physics test. This is pretty easy stuff, and I thought I answered correctly, but according to my teacher's comments on my paper it seems like I'm missing something. Homework Statement For the data provided, is the velocity for this object...- Robershky
