Gas Laws -- An astronaut breathing presurized air
ah ok, i considered that earlier but the other guy disagreed? so because the pressure has decreased, the oxygen becomes less dense and expands, this makes it lose heat energy to work, therefore it cools down and is already at the lower pressure without being able to expand fully to the maximum...- Robyn Gibson

Gas Laws -- An astronaut breathing presurized air
sorry if this is a stupid question, but why would the air in the tank be heated? Is it the bit about the atmosphere's heat that you mentioned?- Robyn Gibson

Gas Laws -- An astronaut breathing presurized air
the tank's volume remains the same but the question asks why he would have a lower volume of oxygen than calculated.- Robyn Gibson

Gas Laws -- An astronaut breathing presurized air
pressure?? sorry, that's just how we've been taught, plus it's in an unrealistic sense, as assumptions have also been made- Robyn Gibson

Gas Laws -- An astronaut breathing presurized air
ok so as the air expands, it will be converting its heat energy into work and therefore cool down, meaning temperature decreases and so the volume of oxygen in his tank will too?- Robyn Gibson

Gas Laws -- An astronaut breathing presurized air
because the pressure is lower at higher altitudes, so if the pressure varies, the temperature will vary in the same way. So when the pressure lowers from 5x10^5 Pa to 1x10^5 Pa, then the temperature will lower?- Robyn Gibson

Gas Laws -- An astronaut breathing presurized air
ah wait, so would he have less because he won't be able to get the maximum volume as volume remains constant and there is less than the max volume of oxygen in the tank?- Robyn Gibson

Gas Laws -- An astronaut breathing presurized air
Sorry, I thought you meant the actual tank :/ volume is surely and temperature is an assumption- Robyn Gibson

Gas Laws -- An astronaut breathing presurized air
If the speed of the gas increased, temperature would increase? temperature inside the tank to outside of it?- Robyn Gibson
