Electric circuit - time constant to charge
When the capacitors are connected in parallel the total C is C1+C2+...+Cn which in case a) gives 4*C.. And i did use tb/ta = cb/ca tb= taCb / Ca = ta(5/2)C / 4C = 5ta / 8 I used the equation with the charge because if there's a way to take the natural logarithm the charge would cancel.- seb26

Electric circuit - time constant to charge
I tried using the equation t=RC because Ra = Rb; Ca = 4C and Cb= (5/2)C R= ta/4C = 5tb/2C tb = (5/8)ta Why doesn't this give me the right answer? I can't find another equation to solve for tb. 4C/V(1-e-ta/RC) = 5C/2V(1-e-tb/RC) 4/(1-e-ta/RCa) = 5/2(1-e-tb/RCb) e-2tb/5RC = 3/8 + 5/8 *...- seb26

Electric circuit - time constant to charge
Homework Statement Four identical capacitors are connected with a resistor in two different ways. When they are connected as in part a of the drawing, the time constant to charge up this circuit is 0.91 s. What is the time constant when they are connected with the same resistor as in part b...- seb26

Net Electrostatic Force on Four Charges at the Corners of a Square
Homework Statement There are four charges, each with a magnitude of 3.04C. Two are positive and two are negative. The charges are fixed to the corners of a 0.124-m square, one to a corner, in such a way that the net force on any charge is directed toward the center of the square. Find the...- seb26

Solve Electric Force Homework: Find Initial Charge on Each Object
Homework Statement Two objects are identical and small enough that their sizes can be ignored relative to the distance between them, which is 0.296 m. In a vacuum, each object carries a different charge, and they attract each other with a force of 1.80 N. The objects are brought into contact...- seb26

Sound waves and the doppler effect
Homework Statement A jet is flying horizontally from A to B. When the plane is directly overhead at B, a person on the ground (C) hears the sound coming from A. ABC is a right triangle in B. The angle BCA = 36 degrees. The average temperature is 20 degrees Celsius. If the speed of the plane...- seb26
