Exploring College Options: Advice for a Senior Prepharmacy Student
...I want to "slightly" change a field after finishing my two Masters... Facts: I'm in last year of Master of Mathematical Modelling in Prague (Czech Republic), focused on fluid mechanics. In the same time I'm in Paris at the university Paris Diderot finishing second year master "Mathematiques...- sesinka

Engineering Do I really need Engineering degree to get job in renewable-energy industry ?
I had several classes of fluid mechanics and thermodynamics and we also have class where we are working with Comsol. We just have much more subjects about PDE theory then classes that can be considered as useful in practice. The most advanced numerics class was FEM for eliptic problems and yes...- sesinka

Engineering Do I really need Engineering degree to get job in renewable-energy industry ?
Yes, I think about PhD. However now my studies tend to PDEs theory rather than applied physics or engineering. My supervisor is well known in his field and expect from me to continue in this direction. About severeral next PhD... You know - I have lack of funds so I hope I can handle one PhD.- sesinka

Engineering Do I really need Engineering degree to get job in renewable-energy industry ?
Hi, in 1.5 year I'll finish my M.S. (more precisely - it's equvalent) in Mathematical modelling. These studies connect math and physics and numerics - this is what propagation papers are trying to fool you. In reality there is lot of Functional analysis and pure math and you have lectures...- sesinka

What would you do if you knew you could not fail?
just Understand. Why things are what they are - The nature - people and relationships And then if Ivan will not do it: cure all disease, feed everyone (I think extending life forever would not be as good as you may think)- sesinka

What do you want to be discovered or invented before you die
1. Bottomless source of energy - ok, at least sufficient till next centrury 2. Bigger computer efficiency - such that we could solve touhg problems numerically 3. Flying carpet :-p- sesinka

Graduate programs connecting physics and math
Ok, maybe it was too wide question... What about applied math studies with some if-it-is-possible useful results for physics ?- sesinka

Graduate programs connecting physics and math
Hi, from relating posts I can't decide how things really are. I'm B.S. of General Physics studying for M.S. of Mathematical Modeling (1st year of 2). It cost huge amount of energy to gain necessary mathematical knowledge (Functional Analysis, PDEs classical+modern, Various lectures of...- sesinka

Theoretical Physics vs Math: Regrets of Scientists
I tried to solve similar dilemma recently. I'm getting close to B.S. (of physics) and I had to decide in which branch of this science I will specialized to M.S. before few months. In particular I thought about matematical modeling or theoretical physics. I planned to do both but it cost lot of...- sesinka
