Selenium Oxidation State in Redox Reaction

Redox question: 12.53 ml of .05093 M selenium oxide (SeO2) reacted exactly with 25.52 ml of .1 M CrSO4. Cr+3 is formed. To what oxidation state is Selenium converted? I think that the ml + M stuff gives you the ratio between moles of SeO2 and moles of CrSO4 (1m SeO2 = 4m CrSO4). But how am...

How much total mechanical work does a eight lifter do in 10 repetitions

ok, tell me if I'm wrong: the questions asks: How much total mechanical work does a eight lifter do in 10 repetitions of lifting (and lowering) 200 kg to a height of 1.0m? I'm thinking, since the final total displacement is zero, the answer is 0 right?

Calculating Force Needed to Support an Object with Hydraulic Press

um wow, i just realized from typing the problem out, i been missing some given data, about the density of the oil in the lift. um, i think i got it now, you just calculated the mass that need to be lifted including the mass of the oil in the cylinder of the height needed to lift right?

Calculating Force Needed to Support an Object with Hydraulic Press

Ok, it's a two part question, i did the first part with no problem, which is how much force it takes to hold an object on the other end up, knowing the diameters and the mass of the object, i just used F1/A1 = F2/A2. Now, the 2nd part asks how much force is needed to support the object at a...

How Do You Convert Torque from Pound-Feet to Newton-Meters?

Question: The 2001 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 is listed as "390 horsepower at 6000 rpm, 410 pound-feet of torque at 4800 rpm." Pretty cool, but what is the value of this torque in SI units? I'm not sure what the question is asking for, i tried to just convert the 410 lb ft torque to Nm, and...
