Which freezes faster Hot or cold water?

I didn't think I could put it in homework because it doesn't involve equations, but I got a warning so I did the best I could to repost and do it as the rules say.

Which freezes faster Hot or cold water?

Homework Statement I need to find out which freezes faster--hot or cold water--without doing a lab. Just by thinking and considering laws and theories and properties we have learned about. Homework Equations N/A The Attempt at a Solution It seems like it would be cold water since...

The number of kg needed to pull apart Magdeburg Hemispheres

On each separate one, in order to pull them apart. So I find the area of one and apply it to the equation?

The number of kg needed to pull apart Magdeburg Hemispheres

So P=F/A, and I only have the radii of the hemispheres... do I use that to find the area of one hemisphere or both and add them together?

The number of kg needed to pull apart Magdeburg Hemispheres

F=ma? But I don't know the mass. Or maybe P=F/A. But I already have the pressure, which is 760mm of Hg.

Thank you! Well, that's why I came here... because none of this added up to me haha. Do you know how to help?

The number of kg needed to pull apart Magdeburg Hemispheres

Homework Statement Find the number of kilograms needed to pull apart evacuated Magdeburg Hemispheres whose radii are 25.0 cm when the barometer reads 760mm of Hg. I really don't know where to start. Could someone walk me through it? Homework Equations Unknown. The Attempt at a...

Find how far the spring will be stretched

Homework Statement A spring is stretched by a force of 0.80n a distance of 0.012m. Find how far it will stretch when the force is 0.54n. One problem is that I don't know how to find k. Homework Equations F=kΔd The Attempt at a Solution F=kΔd F=k(0.012m) What is k?
