Thank you. I guess my point is that people talk about the "act of measurement" collapsing the wave function. But is it really an act of measurement in addition to any interaction with matter?

The interesting realization about this explanation for me is that if an election doesn't go through the slits, then that means that the election hit somewhere else on the screen with the slits in it. When this happens, there is obviously no detection of an electron on the detector screen...
