Seems like you are complicating the problem by bringing integration into the picture.
Firstly you can can find the resultant of the distributed load by doing as follow:
Resultant:0.5*9*8=36kN(basically the area of the distributed load i e a triangle in this case)

I am a a little confused by what this sentence says in my textbook.
"An idling engine is one which operates at no load and with nearly closed throttle"
I basically want to know what loading means in this particular context?

When we evaluate the bernoulli's equation-p/(density*gravity)+v^2/(2*gravity)+z=constant.
we get a value whose unit is metre.how am i supposed to actually interpret this result?
