If two black holes combind together-

they'r also detected by the "wobble" of some stars that may b in orbit around the black hole... or whateva else is in orbit around the thing lol and i say, i large explosion would happen haha not a useful piece of information, but still true =P

Exploring the Universe of Numbers: Plato's Physical and Platonic Worlds

I got a question for uni about whether numbers and mathematics have an independent existence, or are simply a human invention... i personally believe they have an independent existence, but i doubt my lecturer will appreaciate an essay on my own point of view haha... does anyone know some of...

    The Universe: Finite or Infinite?

ok, this may be a really dumb question, but i really should b doing an assignment atm and i don't have time 2 read the long responces ppl have posted... so if this has already been mentioned, feel free 2 ignore me haha has ne1 tried 2 answer the question from the point of view of what the...

Understanding the Doppler Effect: The Red Shift and Our Place in the Universe

i agree with marcus, but i have another way of describing his first point (my uni lecturer likes this one haha) if uv got some bread dough, with raisins in it or nuts or whateva, and u put it in the oven, the bread expandes, rite? but the raisins expand away from each other at the same rate...

    Exploring the Mysterious Black Hole

going back to the death thing... if u went ova a blck holes event horizon, ur atoms would b ripped apart, as the gravitational difference between very small distances is so great... ie. the front of ur atoms would b traveling faster than the back of ur atoms and hence would b ripped to pieces...

Does gravity affect the measurement of pi in non-euclidean geometries?

haha, actually I heard it from my university lecturer... that online link that pervect gave for the gravitation book gave me an idea as 2 what my lecturer was on about... there's a bit in it that has to do with space being warped by gravity, and it uses an example of a black hole to make the...

Does gravity affect the measurement of pi in non-euclidean geometries?

I have heard that while pi is known to many millions, even billions of decimal places, gravity makes it both fundamentally and practically impossible to measure pi to more than 10 significant figures. I find this to be a very strage theory, and have never heard of it before. I am also finding...
