Understanding Inequalities in Math: Solving Homework Problem Q7 iii

Thanks, I guess such techniques really do not have a topic on its own, but rather is a concept manifested in problem solving instead. I'll try to get someone to explain it to me better, perhaps seeking my professor will help. Thank you for your help so far!

Understanding Inequalities in Math: Solving Homework Problem Q7 iii

I still find it hard to swallow, and I am not well-trained in inequalities to refute such methodologies.. Is there anywhere I can find something to read about such methods? I have always had trouble with techniques involving inequalities and I hope to get some help on that. Thanks chiro!

Understanding Inequalities in Math: Solving Homework Problem Q7 iii

i am more inclined to think that we aren't allowed to do such substitution purely based on knowing that they are sandwiched, right? For example, 1<=2<=100 and 1<=99<=100, we can't substitute all inequalities related to 2 by 99, only very selective ones.

Understanding Inequalities in Math: Solving Homework Problem Q7 iii

Hey chiro, thanks for replying! I do understand that part, what I am really confused is the part that follows, substituting Q by H-L...

Understanding Inequalities in Math: Solving Homework Problem Q7 iii

Hi everyone. I am having a problem trying to understand the solutions of a homework problem that I had. Really need some help! Basically, I am trying to establish an inequality on kT using a given set of inequalities to work with. we have L \leq Q \leq H L \leq Q < Q+R_{1} \leq H and L...

    Solve Trigonometry Equation: 4cosec(X) - 3sec(X) = 4cos(2X)

    what I will end up with is 4cos(X) - 3sin(X) = sin(4X)

    Solve Trigonometry Equation: 4cosec(X) - 3sec(X) = 4cos(2X)

    i tried that. It's a damn freaking weird question. I can't solve.

    Solve Trigonometry Equation: 4cosec(X) - 3sec(X) = 4cos(2X)

Yup, to both queries. I tried many approaches but can't solve :(

    Solve Trigonometry Equation: 4cosec(X) - 3sec(X) = 4cos(2X)

Okay guys, this equation is bothering me and I have no idea how to start: 4cosec(X) - 3sec(X) = 4cos(2X)

    Modulus Inequality Help: Solving |x/2 + 3| > 3-x^2 and |e^x/2 - 3| > 3-e^(2x)

Didn't help. Anyway I figured the solution already. should be let u= - e^x

    Modulus Inequality Help: Solving |x/2 + 3| > 3-x^2 and |e^x/2 - 3| > 3-e^(2x)

Homework Statement Solve | \frac{x}{2} +3 | > 3-x^2 Hence, solve | \frac{e^x}{2} -3 | > 3-e^{2x} Homework Equations The Attempt at a Solution I've solved the first part. But I have no clue what is the link to the second part?! could there be just typo to the question?? I...

Different emf across the same resistance

My problem is, why must all the emf supplied by different cells be used to maintain a larger pd across the resistor? Why can't the pd across a resistor remain constant while you change the emf cell? I do know the actual facts; it's that I somehow can't seem to accept them as I can hardly find...

Different emf across the same resistance

Hi, I'm having some difficulties understanding some elementary physics concept. When different emf is supplied to a resistor of the same resistance, the p.d. across changes in different scenarios. By definition, p.d. is the amount of electrical energy converted to other forms of energy...

What Is the Probability of Having the Fourth Ace in a Card Game?

Hi guys. A question came to me as I'm playing a card game with 4 players. Let's say the full deck (of 52 playing cards) are all dealt to each player, one at a time into player's hands in a direction. All the cards are fully dealt before a player views the cards in his hands. Assume player...
