Help Needed: Writing Fade In/Out Function for Volume Control

This more of a maths question rather than a physics one, but I do remember doing something similar is my physics course. Basically I trying to write a fade in and fade out function for a volume control but I am stuck on the maths part. Thats where I need you. I've tryed a linear fade...

Car Acceleration: Gears, Gear Ratio, & More

    In my car (Toyota Yaris) I can go 0-60MPH in 8.3sec, Toyota say 0-60MPH is 12.8Sec. I did it 8.3sec because I change from 1st to 2nd at 30MPH. If I drove properly 1st 0-15MPH 2nd 15-30MPH 3rd 30-40MPH 4th 40-60MPH the second way would take longer because I've changed gears too...

Car Acceleration: Gears, Gear Ratio, & More

Its a bit hard for me to explain this, 1st and 2nd gear gives different acceleration eg 0-30MPH in 1st gear will take 3.05sec but what if you drive 0-15 in 1st gear and switch to 2nd from 15-30MPH both will take different times to get to 30MPH
