ICL MSc in Quantum Fields and Fundamental Forces - how hard?
3 weeks waitng is ok. I'm in the seventh now...so...I better put my eyes somewhere else. In any case, I'm going to be in London; and in any case, I wish you the best luck in the MSc.- xcualquiera

ICL MSc in Quantum Fields and Fundamental Forces - how hard?
I have majors in Math and Physics and some research experience. However, I'm slightly below the first class mark (at least in the criteria I'm guessing Imperial considers). It's been 7 weeks since my application was received and this is the time I haven't received a notice. Therefore, I'm not...- xcualquiera

ICL MSc in Quantum Fields and Fundamental Forces - how hard?
I also applied for this MSc, I'm not sure of how long it takes them to decide on an application, but to be honest, I'm not very optimistic.- xcualquiera

Cosmology: a good career choice?
Yes, I step back with my comment. I agree it is a philosophy of life. I can't imagine anyone who has passionately devoted so many years to physics starting a completely different job in public relationships and the private sector without a painful cost of living style.- xcualquiera

Undergrad Proof of continuity of f(x) = 1/x
1/x - 1/a = (a-x)/(x*a). One can easily bound |a-x|. To bound |1/(x*a)|, consider the binomial expansion of (x+a)^2.- xcualquiera

Cosmology or Theoretical Physics for job?
I was just checking the wikipedia links above and I saw some link for theoretical Cosmology. There is a field called "Brane Cosmology", pretty attractive. This is why I though that perhaps Cosmology and theoretical physcs would become indistinguishable at a certain point. I'm really happy to...- xcualquiera

Cosmology or Theoretical Physics for job?
¿Cosmology or Theoretical Physics? I have a dilemma. I have an offer for Cosmology and I have an offer for Theoretical Physics. I'm ofcourse aware of both fields, but I would like to know from you what their main differences are. Thank you!- xcualquiera

Cosmology: a good career choice?
Well, I'm in the same picture. My dream is to study Cosmology. I have taken Math and Physics majors in order to study Cosmology. After reading this thread over and over and once again, I decided I will spend a year in a MS in England doing what I love and then spend another year in doing an...- xcualquiera

Programs After math and physics majors, what should I do?
I'm a recent physics major and a recent math major. I wanted to do both because I've always wanted a graduate study in Cosmology and for some reason I though it was better to do both. Right now, I'm seriously inclined to study theoretical physics instead. However, I read in this forum (or...- xcualquiera
