Why is the induced EMF on an inductor equal to -L (di/dt)?
thanks  but why to drive the current through the circuit so as to defeat the induced e.m.f -L di/dt we need Ldi/dt; don't we not need a greater value?? thanks again.- zero_kilo

Why is the induced EMF on an inductor equal to -L (di/dt)?
thanks but this is what i actually asked why we put E=+L dI/dt for the applied e.mf:confused:- zero_kilo

Why is the induced EMF on an inductor equal to -L (di/dt)?
so the amount of work done to drive the current through the inductor is given by dw=Eidt where E is the emf of the variable voltage source. We put E=+L (di/dt). can you please tell me why we put that value?? (i know the induced e.m.f on the inductor is - L (di/dt) thanks - zero_kilo

High School Light passing through the normal of a surface
thanks Bob you are a great help  but this is still my question: Why? Is not there are a refraction when it passes from one medium to another? Refraction changes direction of path. thanks -

High School Light passing through the normal of a surface
thanks Bob  i understand what you said but when drawn a normal to the incident light its straight. At the normal let's have an incident light (normal incident) we always draw straight in the diagram or shall we say its just a diagram and let know that there is still... -

High School Light passing through the normal of a surface
When light passes from one medium to other there is refraction but at the normal to the surface no refraction why? We know refraction occurred due to change in speed of light in the medium. Also why frequency of light do not change in going from one medium to other medium (eg from air to... -
