Otherwise, try http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Prine" ".

John Prine is good, but in this particular instance, I think Evo should go with Steve Goodman.

Or maybe not even hitched, just have a non-commital, seldom seen, no expectations, imaginary romantic relationship. I usually have an imaginary boyfriend for the Holidays, but I have NO ONE for this holiday season. :frown:

Who will be my imaginary Holiday season 2011-2012 BF?

DISCUSS!

It needs to be Captain Jean-Luc Picard of the Starship Enterprise.

I don't think it should be anyone from the forum; they represent real people, while Jean-Luc is a fictional character.

Another "Good" (eh eh) choice. Perhaps a bit cuter than Prine and likely a better singer. A better imaginary choice since he passed away in 1984.

Yeah, BobG and I love that song, it's so honest. Why are people afraid of honesty?

Looks like Kim Kadashian took my temporary marriage to heart.

Although 72 days is short even for me. (did they meet before they got married?)

Since the subject has been broached - Famously short celebrity marriages
http://shine.yahoo.com/channel/sex/famously-short-celebrity-marriages-2607772

Apparently Ms Kadashian and her husband-to-be-ex, or ex-to-be-husband, had dated for some time. Apparently however, they spent their time entertaining each themselves rather than developing a close and responsible relationship.

The marriage though isn't the shortest.

Eddie Murphy & Tracy Edmonds: 2 weeks
Carmen Electra & Dennis Rodman: 10 days
Cher & Gregg Allman: 9 days
Michelle Phillips & Dennis Hopper: 8 days
Jason Alexander & Britney Spears: 54 hours
Rudolph Valentino & Jean Acker: 6 hours

Pretty sad.

I think that's the next verse in "you never even call me by my name":

I was drunk the day my Fluffy left the family.
I chased her out the back door in the rain.
But before I could catch her an bring her back home, again,
she got runned over by a damned old train.

From there, its back to the chorus . . . :)

Yep. A good country song can definitely tug at the ol' heartstrings.

Now for a more uplifting love song, google John Prine's "In Spite of Ourselves"
