SUMMARY

The discussion centers on the construction of a Lawrence cyclotron, specifically the challenges of sourcing dee electromagnets and obtaining a complete design. Participants suggest utilizing the forum's search function to find relevant threads that provide guidance on building cyclotrons. Additionally, it is emphasized that constructing and operating a particle accelerator involves significant safety risks, including high voltages and radiation hazards, as well as potential legal regulations at state and federal levels.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of particle accelerator design principles
  • Knowledge of electromagnet specifications and sourcing
  • Familiarity with safety protocols for high-voltage equipment
  • Awareness of legal regulations regarding particle accelerators
NEXT STEPS
  • Research the specifications and suppliers for dee electromagnets
  • Study existing designs of Lawrence cyclotrons for reference
  • Learn about safety measures for operating particle accelerators
  • Investigate state and federal regulations governing particle accelerator construction
USEFUL FOR

Engineers, physicists, hobbyists interested in particle physics, and anyone involved in the design and construction of particle accelerators.

Anyone know how to do it? I do not know where to find dee electromagnets, nor do I even have the complete design of his system.

If you click on the "Search" button at the top of the page, and do a quick search on cyclotron, you will get a lot of threads that may be of help.

But, please keep in mind (as mentioned in some of those threads) that building and running a particle accelerator can be dangerous (high voltages, radiation hazards, etc.), and it may also be subject to state and federal laws.
