Hi everyone.
Im on a bit of a time crunch, so all advice ASAP would be greatly appreciated.
Im usually quite good at maths, am In High School, and we are doing functions. In particular, I am having trouble graphing and working out functions like the following type:
Eg Graph the following, y...
Anyone know enough about TI-83s to help me out? For some reason whenever I try to graph a polar equation on mine it gives me what the graph should look like for radians when degrees is the mode of choice and vice versa. For example, if I were to graph sin(theta) I get a nice pretty circle when...
Sketch the graph of the function, using the curve-sketching guide.
Function: \frac {x}{x^2-4}
So far I have derived this information from the function: (Please check!)
Domain: (-\infty,-2)\cup(-2,2)\cup(2,\infty)
y-int: (0,0)
x-int: (0,0)
Asymptote: x=-2 , x=2
First Derivative...
Ok I can graph sin(x) , cos(x) , and tan(x) pretty easily, but I'm having a hard time graphing the csc, sec, and cot ones. For the first three I just found the values of pi/2 pi 3pi/2 and 2pi. So for example pi/2 for sin(x) would be sin 90 or sin pi/2 which is equal to 1. I then just put a...
Hello,
Ive done the first part of a question which was to derive the equation
\displaystyle{\theta(t) = \theta_0 \sin(\omega_0t + \phi)}
for a pendulum
where \displaystyle{\omega_0 = \sqrt{\frac{g}{r}}} and \displaystyle{\phi = \sin^{-1} \left(\frac{\theta_1}{\theta_0}\right)}
r =...
I have both the TI-89 and the TI-92 graphing calculators. I like them just fine but I can't figure out how to abort a plot. There doesn't seem to be any mention of how to do this in the manual.
Once a plot is started there doesn't seem to be any way to stop a plot until it has been...
Find Equation On Graphing Calc Plz Help!
I know how to graph the inverse on the t1 83 graphing calculator
u press 2nd prog 8 y vars enter but Is there a way to find the eqn of the inverse after its graphed?
HELP SOMEONE PLEASE THIS COULD MAKE MY LIFE SOOOO EASY PLZ PLZ PLZ HELP ME! :cry...
Does anyone know how to put absolute values in the t1-83 graphing calculator? I need to graph absolute value of x, the absolute value of x +2, and the absolute value of x-3
Hey.. I am having problems finding the x-intercepts and the maximum and minimi points using my calculator.. the question is as follows:
Graph each function. IDentify the x-intercepts and the pointsw here the local maximums and local minimums occur.
F(x) = x^4-4x^3-x^2+12x-2
on my ti 83...
What would be the reciprocal of the following:
A)y=x^2
B)y=\sqrt{x}
I think the reciprocal for A, it would be:
y=\frac{1}{x^2}
And B would be:
y=\sqrt{\frac{1}{x}}
And also, How would I graph this?
I just need the table of values. Well, I need to do domain,range,graphing...
"Graph the region defined by the inequalities x^2 + y^2 - 2x + 4y -5 <= 0 and x + y - 1 >= 0. Determine the area of the region defined bythe graph."
I'm confused about the graphing part, I have no idea where to begin.
I have a TI graphing calculator and I'd like to graph the following equation,...
x^3+y^3-3xy = 0
I'm not sure how to graph this on my TI
I took the derivative of the above with respect to x,...
3x^2+3y^2\frac {dy}{dx}-3x\frac{dy}{dx}-3y=0
Which I solved as...
hello, I'm new! well anyways, I'm having trouble with this assignment. the assignment is to, on my TI-83 plus graphing calculator, create an illustration as a graph. it doesn't have to be much, it could be a person, or a flower, pretty much anything. the thing is, I'm not too good at...
Hi --
This is a little off topic but I will still ask anyways. I did a lab for physics where I had to calculate the following values from data which I capture:
- mean
- deviation of each value from the mean
- mean of the deviations
- standard deviation
- standard deviation of the mean...
f(x)=(1/8)x^3
I think because the 1/8 is less than 1, therefore it's wider, but if it's greater than 1, it's narrower right? I tried to graph it, but looks like mine was way to wide, and not matching what the answer book had... Can someone explain and sketch it for me? Thanks!
My school, for some reason, requires it's math students to own Graphing Calculators.
I've been to an office supply store and most of them are at least $100 (Texas Intruments). Although I saw a Casio for just $50. I'm not sure why it's so much cheaper, but that's my main choice right now...
During a conversation I had yesterday, a math professor I occasionally meet with mentioned in passing, "and you might want to try to graph f(z)=e^z on the complex plane...hm...yes...anyway..." (where "z" is complex). So I sat down at Taco Bell yesterday to think about it, and, for a few minutes...
HI, please lend me some hints on how to graph the following equation in terms of y.
x = y + sin[y]
I know to plot it in terms of y, i should simply switch the places of y's and x's:
y = x + sin[x]
but i don't know how it looks like on the graph. Any idea how?
Appreciate it!
I'm still having trouble with figuring out slope fields.
If I have a function dy/dt= f(t,y), how would I go about graphing the slope field for my solutions without the use of a calculator.
An example would be how would I graph the slope field of dy/dt = t^2-t and dy/dt = y^2? Thanks.
one of my calc assignments asks me to graph the derivative of a graph which can be seen here: http://www.eden.rutgers.edu/~cjjacob/images/fifth.jpg
i already know that when there's a cusp on the graph, the derivative of that point is at zero and that slope determines how the derivative acts...
Ok I have hit a little bumb in the road on my trigonometric function learning. Ok i need to graph the function y=3cos2(x-120degrees)-3, for x is less than or equal to 360degrees but is greater than or equal to -360degrees. Ok so i know the:
verticle translation is 3 down
the phase shift is...
I need some help please. I'm not that good at sketching graphs out.
Here's the problem. k(x) = log3 (x+9)
(the number three is the base)
What steps do I have to do in order to graph this problem? Thank you.
