AI Thread Summary
The discussion centers on defining the materials and features of quantum wells in a VCSEL structure using Lumerical software. The user is uncertain about which materials, such as [r,k], Lorentz, or dielectrics, are appropriate for modeling the quantum wells in their simulation. They mention needing to incorporate seven layers in the active region of the structure. Participants are encouraged to share solutions or experiences related to this specific issue. Clarifying the material selection process is essential for successful simulation outcomes.

Hi
I've started the simulation of a vcsel structure with lumerical software. I've got a problem in solution mode
I don't know how i can define the quantum wells materials and features for the software ..
Let me give you an example of its structure :

As the example says i have to use 7 layers in its active region.
In Lumerical we have different materials such as [r,k] , Lorentz , dielectrics and so on..
With which materials can i define the quantum wells ?

Have you solved the problem?
