Suggestion Allow members to propose their theories and discuss

  • Thread starter Thread starter dexterdev

AI Thread Summary
The discussion centers around the desire for a dedicated space for members to propose and discuss their theories and DIY projects. Previous attempts at creating similar forums, such as Independent Research, have been deemed unmaintainable, leading to repeated discussions on the topic. Participants express curiosity about the recurring nature of this request and suggest that a site logo might help clarify the situation. A member references a blog post for further insights on the matter. Overall, the feasibility of establishing such a forum remains in question.

Hi all,
It would be nice if we have a place to discuss our own theories suggestions, DIY things etc. If it cannot be done please someone give link to such websites etc.

Thanks

We had such forums - for example Independent Research - in the past. They proved to be unmaintainable. This was discussed many times in the past, like for example here and here.

I want to thank those members who interacted with me a couple of years ago in two Optics Forum threads. They were @Drakkith, @hutchphd, @Gleb1964, and @KAHR-Alpha. Anyway, I finally got a paper on the same matter as discussed in those forum threads, the fat lens model, got it peer-reviewed, and IJRAP...

I found physics forums and used it to ask questions I was unable to get answered from my textbooks or class lectures. Unfortunately, work and life got in the way and I never got further the freshman courses. Well, here it is 20 years later. I'm in my mid-50s now, and in a...
