Engineering An issue with these two curved beam homework problems

Click For Summary
The discussion centers on difficulties encountered with two homework problems involving curved beams, specifically in calculating stress at points A and B. The user notes that their results for point A in the first problem are close to the teacher's, but point B shows significant discrepancies. In the second problem, while the user is close to the teacher's results, there are still noticeable differences. Clarifications reveal that the first problem lacks a load, which affects the calculations, while the second problem has a specified load of 5 kN. The user seeks assistance in understanding where their calculations may be going wrong.

Hi, good evening/morning/night!

I have a problem with this 2 homework problems about curved beams.

In both I must calculate the stress at points A and B.

My procedure is correct, but for some reason in:

First problem - the effort in A is very close to that of the teacher, but the effort in B is very different.

Second problem - In both efforts I am close to the teacher's results, but they are quite different.

I don't think I'm too far away, but I must be doing something wrong somewhere and I can't figure out where.

I would greatly appreciate your help.

The pictures of your calculations are barely visible.
Could you please recreate the text of both problems?
I can’t see any load on the second one.
Sorry

I am very sorry, they have already been corrected in the main text.

In the first problem it does not have a load, so the "P/A" is omitted from the formula.
In the second it is 5KN the load

Greetings to all, I am writing with a question regarding graph generation in LTSpice. I am using LTSpice XVII and am trying to plot AM-AM and AM-PM characterization for a power amplifier, but I haven't been successful yet, likely due to my lack of practice with this specific analysis. I have been using a square wave input at 8.2 MHz as the voltage waveform for my power amplifier. It is said that for a switching amplifier like Class-D, the AM-AM / AM-PM (amplitude-to-amplitude and...
Thread 'How do I determine the resistance for RLC low pass filter?'
Hi, I am trying to build a RLC low pass filter that atenuates the frequency below 4500 Hz. However, I have encountered some problem when choosing the correct R to work with. Here is the Circuit Here is the original sound. Here is my code in Matlab function Vout = myFilterCircuit(Vin,h) n_V = length(Vin); f_7 = 4470;; % Undesired frequency h_7 = h; % delta time % These are for the constant and initialization of the variables t_7 = 0:h_7:(n_V-1)*h_7; % This is the independent variable...
