Beat Frequency: Find Frequency with Wavelength of 3.141m & 3.135m

AI Thread Summary
To find the beat frequency of radio waves with wavelengths of 3.141m and 3.135m, the frequencies of both waves must first be calculated using the speed of light, which is approximately 3 x 10^8 m/s. The formula for frequency is f = c/λ, where c is the speed of light and λ is the wavelength. After determining the frequencies, the beat frequency can be calculated using the formula Fb = |f1 - f2|. The discussion emphasizes the need to understand the speed of electromagnetic waves to solve the problem effectively. Understanding these concepts is crucial for calculating beat frequencies in wave interactions.

Homework Statement

What would be the beat frequency if radio waves of wavelenght 3.141m and 3.135 are mixed?

The Attempt at a Solution

I need frequency of wave1 and wave2, because Fb=|f1-f2|
But i don't have nothing but wavelength...
Any hints?

Can you work out the frequency?

HINT: At what speed do radio waves travel?

I have no idea... Where can I find that?

Another hint: Radio waves are electromagnetic waves. At what speed do all EM waves travel at?

Iw as trying but no idea at all...

What speed does light travel at?

Kindly see the attached pdf. My attempt to solve it, is in it. I'm wondering if my solution is right. My idea is this: At any point of time, the ball may be assumed to be at an incline which is at an angle of θ(kindly see both the pics in the pdf file). The value of θ will continuously change and so will the value of friction. I'm not able to figure out, why my solution is wrong, if it is wrong .
TL;DR Summary: I came across this question from a Sri Lankan A-level textbook. Question - An ice cube with a length of 10 cm is immersed in water at 0 °C. An observer observes the ice cube from the water, and it seems to be 7.75 cm long. If the refractive index of water is 4/3, find the height of the ice cube immersed in the water. I could not understand how the apparent height of the ice cube in the water depends on the height of the ice cube immersed in the water. Does anyone have an...
