Discussion Overview

The discussion revolves around calculating various parameters for an electric machine, including starting torque, torque for maintaining a constant speed, stopping distance and time, and engine power. The context involves a project requiring specific performance metrics for an electric machine operating under defined conditions.

Discussion Character

  • Homework-related
  • Mathematical reasoning

Main Points Raised

  • One participant requests assistance in calculating starting torque, torque for maintaining a speed of 6 m/s, stopping distance and time, and engine power, given specific parameters such as acceleration and load.
  • Another participant prompts the original poster to attempt solutions independently before seeking help.
  • A later post reiterates the need for information on the necessary power and minimum torque required to operate the machine.

Areas of Agreement / Disagreement

The discussion does not present a consensus, as participants have differing approaches regarding how to proceed with the calculations and the level of assistance needed.

Contextual Notes

Participants have not provided specific formulas or methods for the calculations, and there may be assumptions regarding the definitions of torque and power that are not explicitly stated.

Hello!

I’m new on this forum and I would like to ask you for help.

I have a project to make about an electric machine, that needs to reach the velocity of 6 m/s, with an acceleration of 12 m/s^2 and a load of 130 kilos.

It is being asked to calculate the starting torque ,the torque to maintain a constant speed of 6 m/s, the distance and time to stop and the engine power, knowing that the motor is 3000 rpm and the wheel has a diameters of 20 cm.

Thanks a lot!

OK, so what is it that you need help with?

Have a go at some solutions yourself, and let us know where you are getting stuck.

I want to know what is the necessary power to move this mashine and the minimum torque to move it.
