SUMMARY

The discussion focuses on calculating the zero-sequence line impedance of a transmission line using parameters available in Simulink, specifically R1/R0, L1/L0, C1/C0, and line length. Users are encouraged to utilize the characteristic impedance formula, which involves inductance (L'), capacitance (C'), resistance (r'), and conductance (g') per unit length. The conversation highlights the need for clarity on how to derive sequence impedances from these parameters, emphasizing the importance of understanding the relationship between them.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of transmission line theory
  • Familiarity with Simulink for modeling electrical systems
  • Knowledge of characteristic impedance calculations
  • Basic concepts of electrical parameters: resistance, inductance, capacitance
NEXT STEPS
  • Research how to calculate zero-sequence impedance in transmission lines
  • Learn about the relationship between R1/R0, L1/L0, C1/C0, and sequence impedances
  • Explore the use of Simulink for electrical system simulations
  • Study the derivation of characteristic impedance from L', C', r', and g'
USEFUL FOR

Electrical engineers, power system analysts, and students studying transmission line theory who need to calculate sequence line impedances for simulations or practical applications.

How to calculate sequence line impedance from MATLAB/simulink ?
Hi. I want to calculate sequence line impedance of transmission line. But i can't find any parameter of Z1 and Z0 of transmission line in simulink.

It's only have parameter about number of phase, frequency, R1/R0, L1/L0, C1/C0 and line length.
Can i calculate sequence line impedance from these parameters ?

Are you familiar with how to calculate the characteristic impedance of a transmission line from L', C', r' and g'? (where those are the inductance, etc, per unit length)...
