Wonder if there's any way to password protect a normal folder?!

Password protection for folders on Windows XP Home is not directly supported, but users can utilize NTFS security features to restrict access. For Windows XP Professional users, the Encrypting File System (EFS) can be employed to encrypt folders and their contents. Tools such as WinZip, WinRAR, and WinAce can compress folders with password protection as an alternative. Additionally, users can convert FAT file systems to NTFS using the command 'convert [drive_letter:] /fs:NTFS' without losing data, provided a backup is made first.
PREREQUISITESThis discussion is beneficial for Windows XP users, particularly those seeking to enhance folder security, as well as IT professionals and security enthusiasts interested in file system permissions and encryption methods.
Interesting.. but how do you do that?Anttech said:If you are using Windows... XP pro and you are using NTFS you can lock down the folder so only you can access it... Also you can use (only with XPpro) EFS which will encrypt the folder and contents and only allow you to access it...
