SUMMARY

The internal case of a CD or DVD drive is primarily constructed from sheet metal, specifically a type of steel. This material is typically formed through a stamping process using a die. For modifications, brazing is the recommended technique rather than welding, as it is more suitable for altering the structure of the drive casing.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of sheet metal properties
  • Familiarity with brazing techniques
  • Knowledge of stamping processes in manufacturing
  • Basic skills in metalworking and welding
NEXT STEPS
  • Research the properties of different types of steel used in sheet metal applications
  • Learn about brazing techniques and their applications in metalworking
  • Explore the stamping process and its role in manufacturing metal components
  • Investigate safety practices for working with metal and welding equipment
USEFUL FOR

Metalworkers, hobbyists interested in DIY projects, and anyone looking to modify or repair internal CD/DVD drives.

if it's an internal cd drive it has a frame
it's made of sheet metal a type of steel
it's usually made by stamping it in a die
to alter it probably takes brazing not welding
good luck

Sweet cheers
