Debugging Logic Flow: Tips and Tricks

Click For Summary
SUMMARY

The discussion centers on debugging logic flow in a circuit analysis involving two voltage sources and resistors. The user incorrectly calculated the voltage across a resistor using a voltage divider formula, leading to confusion about the circuit's complexity. The correct approach requires understanding nodal analysis to accurately assess the circuit's behavior. The user initially believed the circuit was simple, but the presence of multiple power sources necessitates a more thorough analysis.

PREREQUISITES
  • Basic understanding of circuit theory
  • Familiarity with voltage dividers
  • Knowledge of nodal analysis
  • Experience with circuit simulation tools
NEXT STEPS
  • Study nodal analysis techniques for circuit evaluation
  • Practice voltage divider calculations with multiple sources
  • Explore circuit simulation software like LTspice for visual analysis
  • Review advanced circuit theory resources to deepen understanding
USEFUL FOR

Electrical engineering students, hobbyists working on circuit design, and professionals troubleshooting complex circuits.

Never mind there, I screwed up my logic flow

I haven't learned nodal analysis yet, but I don't see any thing wrong with V1 =+6V. It's just a simple circuit to me, with two sources delivering power (addictive) with net 18 V ...
so, this leaves us 18 V of battery with two resistors, and using voltage dividers:
Vacross 3000 = 3000/(3000+6000)*18 = +6

I would really appreciate if you can help me understand why this is not just a simple circuit with one battery and two loads.

but what was the correct answer!?
