digital and quantized signal, are one same thing?
Digital signals and quantized signals are closely related, with digital audio being a prime example of a quantized signal. However, class D amplifiers, which quantize in the time dimension, are not classified as digital. Digital signals can be fully understood as complete quantization, but this does not apply universally across all applications. Various modulation techniques, such as 8VSB for digital television in the USA and DVB for Europe, illustrate the diversity in digital signal applications.
PREREQUISITESElectrical engineers, audio engineers, telecommunications professionals, and anyone interested in the distinctions between digital and quantized signals.
