SUMMARY

The discussion centers on the existence of a draft for the missing volumes of Wolfgang Zeidler's Quantum Field Theory (QFT) series. Participants express interest in any outlines or preliminary drafts that may have been shared among Zeidler's students or collaborators. The first three volumes are acknowledged as foundational, indicating that the subsequent volumes were planned but never completed due to Zeidler's untimely passing. The community seeks insights into Zeidler's pedagogical approach to QFT through any available drafts.

PREREQUISITES
  • Familiarity with Quantum Field Theory (QFT) principles
  • Understanding of Wolfgang Zeidler's contributions to theoretical physics
  • Knowledge of academic publishing and manuscript sharing practices
  • Basic research skills to locate unpublished materials
NEXT STEPS
  • Investigate the availability of unpublished drafts or outlines from Wolfgang Zeidler's collaborators
  • Explore academic networks or forums dedicated to Quantum Field Theory
  • Review the existing volumes of Zeidler's QFT series for context
  • Contact institutions or libraries that may hold Zeidler's unpublished works
USEFUL FOR

This discussion is beneficial for theoretical physicists, students of Quantum Field Theory, and researchers interested in the pedagogical methods of Wolfgang Zeidler.

I enjoyed a lot the three first volumes of Zeidler's planned series of 6 books on QFT. Unfortunately, he passed away too soon.

However, it is clear from reading the first three books, that an outline of the next books in the series was already planned.

Is there a draft, containing the basis of some of his missing books? I understand that this would not be a finished product, it could have mistakes, missing parts ... But I would be interested in how Zeidler wanted to teach the subject. I believe that with a basic draft, I could understand that well enough for my purposes.

Maybe such a draft was shared among some of his students/collaborators, and some of them have these drafts?
