Does anyone know what Pilot wave theory is?

Does anyone know what Pilot wave theory is? The little I could gather is that it explains behavior at the quantum level without requiring the uncertainty so necessary in quantum physics, thus making the universe more deterministic than we thought. Anyone here who can offer an approachable explanation?

I should add that its just one of the interpretations of QM. And recently its doubted that it may not reproduce all of QM's predictions.
